Haunted Basement Tarot – The Magician

The Haunted Basement (an adults-only haunted experience) decided to create a Tarot deck with submissions from actors, set designers, costumers, stage managers, front of house staff – anyone who had been involved in the project was welcome to pick a card or two and make a design for the deck.

One of the cards I chose was the Magician. The vision for this card was inspired by a room in the Haunted Basement that had a character with three masks and a top hat in a suit with white gloves interact with people in a forced-perspective room. It was one of my favorite rooms to be an actor in.

The final artwork is an acrylic painting. The painting was photographed in order to create the digital submission that was printed for the deck.
